Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
Are bathroom vanities cheaper online or in a showroom?
Online stores often offer better pricing due to lower overhead, while showrooms provide a tactile experience. Fabubath combines both — competitive online prices with the option to visit our San Diego showroom in Scripps Ranch. Book a visit
What vanity styles are trending in Southern California?
Southern California bathroom vanity trends favor modern, minimalist designs, clean lines, and warm natural finishes. Floating vanities in matte white, light oak, and walnut or two-tone remain especially popular for their airy, contemporary look. Coastal and transitional styles that blend sleek shapes with organic textures continue to dominate SoCal bathrooms, including many San Diego homes.
What should I consider when buying a good-quality bathroom vanity?
When selecting a high-quality vanity look for cabinets built from plywood or solid wood, not particle board or MDF, because they resist moisture and last longer in bathroom environments. Check that drawers and doors use soft-close hardware and sturdy glides. Prioritize durable countertops like quartz or sintered stone, which resist stains and wear. Also consider storage capacity, proper sizing for your space, and finish options.
Should I choose a floating or freestanding vanity?
Floating vanities (wall-mounted) create a clean, modern look, make small bathrooms feel larger, and simplify floor cleaning. Freestanding vanities offer a more classic appearance and often provide greater internal storage. Both options at Fabubath are available in multiple sizes, finishes, and countertop styles to suit modern and traditional San Diego homes.
What color bathroom vanity is popular now?
Current trends favor warm, natural tones and versatile neutrals that complement modern Southern California bathrooms. Popular choices include soft white, light oak and honey wood, walnut, and greys with warm undertones. Lighter finishes help smaller bathrooms feel brighter and more open. Here are some best-selling colors at Fabubath: Seaside Oak, Pecan Oak, Whitewash Oak, Walnut, Chestnut Oak
Do modern vanities add value to a home in San Diego?
Yes. Updated bathrooms with modern vanities can improve resale appeal, especially in San Diego’s competitive housing market.
Why are prices for bathroom vanities at the Home Depot, Lowe’s, IKEA and similar stores often lower?
Big box retailers typically offer vanities designed for mass-market appeal — featuring standardized designs, particle board or MDF construction, and limited style and finish options. These efficiencies help keep prices lower. Higher-end retailers like Fabubath focus on more distinctive designs, upgraded materials such as plywood or solid wood, and a wider selection of finishes, which can affect pricing but often provide better durability, aesthetics, and value.
What’s the difference between MDF, particle board, and plywood construction?
Particle board is the most budget-oriented and can swell or weaken if exposed to humidity. MDF (medium-density fiberboard) is smooth and affordable but more sensitive to moisture. Plywood is stronger, more stable, and significantly more moisture-resistant, making it a preferred choice for higher-quality bathroom vanities.
How much should I spend on a quality bathroom vanity?
In San Diego and Southern California, a quality bathroom vanity with quartz top typically ranges from $1,000 to $4,000+, depending on size, construction, and design. Solid wood or plywood cabinets with soft-close drawers and premium hardware perform best in humid bathroom environments and offer long-term durability.
Can I buy a good-quality vanity in a big box store?
Big box stores offer bathroom vanities that can work well for basic or budget-focused projects. However, many models are built with cost-driven materials such as MDF or particle board, which may be less durable in humid bathroom environments. Homeowners seeking longer-lasting construction and higher-end design often explore specialty retailers like Fabubath, where vanities typically feature plywood or solid wood cabinetry, soft-close hardware, and more refined style options.
Product Questions
What materials are the products made of?
The materials that the vanities are made of are specified in the description of each vanity. Most our vanity bases are made of solid wood or with 9 layers of high density hardwood/engineering wood (NEVER particle board or MDF). For countertops, we offer quartz, premium grade ATH solid surface, and sintered stone options, all designed with either vessel or under-mount sinks. Our sinks are quartz, premium grade ATH solid surface, natural stone, porcelain or ceramic depending on the design.
All the boxes are made of plywood.
Can the color and pattern look different from what it looks on the screen?
We do our best to accurately capture the color of our products however lighting and surrounding objects will affect the appearance. All items with wood veneer or veining will come with some variations of color and pattern because natural wood veining varies from piece to piece.
Can I buy a cabinet without a countertop or choose a countertop?
Yes — in most cases you can buy a vanity cabinet without a countertop, or choose from multiple countertop options. Some models offer up to 10 countertop finishes, and select styles even include features like FreePower® wireless charging built into the surface.
Can I buy a large vanity with one sink only?
Yes — on many larger vanities (like 60″ models), you can choose a top with a single sink or a double-sink configuration.
Do vanities come assembled?
Yes - all vanity cabinets come pre-assempled for easy installation.
What hardware is used on vanities?
All our vanities have soft-closing door and drawers.
Are the products water/stain/corrosion resistant?
Yes, they are water-resistant, corrosion-protected, scratches and stains proof as well as suitable for radiant heat and UV light.
Does the vanity include sinks, handles and faucets?
Most vanities include one or two sinks integrated with the countertop and handles/knobs on the cabinet. Faucets are not included.
Are countertops pre-drilled for faucets?
All the countertops are pre-fabricated with 3 holes for a wide spread faucet or one hole. Check the specifications for the vanity carefully before making the purchase.
What countertop is best for durability?
For long-lasting performance in a bathroom, quartz and sintered stone are among the most durable options. They resist stains, scratches, and daily wear without sealing, and hold up well in humid environments.
What is sintered stone?
Sintered stone is 100% natural and hygienic material based on granite minerals, glass minerals and natural oxides. It is manufactured using recent technological advancements which mimic the processes that form natural stone deep beneath the earth's surface. Granite materials, such as quartz and feldspar, give sintered stone its exceptional hardness and strength. Glass minerals like silica, ensure the material's chemical stability. Natural oxides are added to give the slabs different colors.
Do you sell matching backsplashes?
Some vanities include or offer matching backsplashes in quartz or wood, while others are designed for a clean, backsplash-free look. Availability varies by model, so please check the product details.
What is an overflow/non-overflow sink?
Overflow and non-overflow sink refer to whether the sink basin has a built-in feature to prevent overflowing water. Overflow sinks are commonly found in bathroom sinks where there's a higher risk of water overflow. Non-overflow sinks are commonly used where overflow protection is not a primary concern.
Does it matter what type of overflow I use?
Ues, if the sink and drain are not matched correctly there will be leaking. A non-overflow sink must be paired with a non-overflow drain & overflow sinks must be paired with overflow drains.
What maintenance for products is required?
For wood vanities, wipe away moisture promptly, avoid harsh chemicals, and clean with a soft cloth and mild soap. For quartz or stone countertops, use non-abrasive cleaners, mild soap, and avoid strong acids or bleach.
Shipping Questions
What does free shipping mean?
We offer free shipping services within California for all our products. Free shipping includes one delivery attempt.
Can I track my order?
When tracking information is available, it is included in your shipping update. For freight deliveries, the carrier generally contacts you to arrange an available delivery appointment. Contact Fabubath with your order number if you need help with an update.
How long does shipping take?
Estimated delivery is 7–14 calendar days from the date an order is placed. This includes typical order processing, supplier fulfillment and transportation time. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date; availability, destination and carrier scheduling may affect timing. See our Shipping Policy for details.
Will my order be brought inside when it is delivered?
No, large items such as vanities and bathtubs ship out as curbside deliveries via a freight company. This means the carrier will drop it off on your property but will not deliver inside your home, porch, garage, kitchen, etc. Smaller products like mirrors, drains, medicine cabinets, and side cabinets are shipped via FedEx Ground or UPS. Small products will not require a receival signature and the courier will leave it on your property, typically at or near your front door.
Installation Questions
Do you provide installation services?
While Fabubath does not handle installation directly, we’re happy to recommend licensed installers in San Diego County that many of our customers have successfully worked with. Installation arrangements are made directly with the contractor, and their services are independent from Fabubath.
Do you provide installation instructions?
Yes, installation instructions are provided with your order and if they are misplaced you can email us for a PDF copy.
Can I install a bathroom vanity myself?
Yes — if you’re comfortable with basic plumbing, leveling, and wall mounting, the vanity cabinets come assembled. However, proper alignment, plumbing connections, and securing the vanity are critical to avoid leaks or damage. Fabubath recommends to choose a licensed installer, especially for floating or double-sink vanities.
Is it difficult to install a floating vanity?
Floating vanities typically require more precise installation than freestanding models. Proper wall reinforcement, accurate leveling, and secure mounting are essential to safely support the weight. Plumbing alignment must also be exact.
How much weight can a floating vanity hold?
A properly installed floating vanity can safely support the countertop, sinks and daily used items. Secure anchoring into wall studs or reinforced blocking is essential. Professional installation is highly recommended.
Size & Fit Questions
What’s the most popular bathroom vanity size in San Diego homes?
In San Diego, 30″ and 36″ vanities are common for smaller bathrooms, 48″ and 60″ double vanities are popular in primary suites, and 72” in master bathrooms.
What should I measure for a bathroom vanity?
Measure the available width, depth, and height of your space first. Check clearances for door swings, drawers, and walking paths. Note the plumbing locations (drain and water lines) to ensure compatibility with the vanity’s interior layout. Also measure nearby elements like toilets, showers, and walls to maintain comfortable spacing.
Is a 30" vanity too small for a primary bathroom?
A 30″ vanity works well in compact primary bathrooms, especially in condos, rentals or guest suites. For more counter space and storage, many homeowners prefer 36″–48″ vanities.
What is the standard bathroom vanity height and depth?
Standard vanity height is 34″–36″. Standard depth is 20″–22″.
What height should my faucet be?
A commonly recommended height is around 4 to 6 inches above the rim of the sink. For vessel sinks a recommended faucet height is 8 to 10 inches above the countertop.

Is delivery available to my California ZIP code, and how much does it cost?
Standard shipping within California is free and includes one delivery attempt. The delivery is curbside.
Can I arrange delivery for a particular date?
When a freight shipment reaches your local terminal, the carrier will contact you to arrange an available delivery appointment. Dates shown before that appointment are estimates. Delaying delivery beyond the carrier’s available window may result in storage fees.
What should I check before signing for my freight delivery?
Have an adult available to receive the shipment. Count the packages, inspect them for visible damage, photograph any concerns, and note damage or missing items on the delivery receipt before signing.
What if an item arrives damaged or a part is missing?
Inspect all components promptly, preferably within 48 hours of delivery, and email sales@fabubath.com with your order number and clear photos of the issue, packaging, pallet and delivery receipt when available. Preserve the packaging and pallet, and contact us before installing or modifying a damaged product. Later reports are reviewed individually. See our Damage Claim Policy for details.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact Fabubath immediately with your order number. A full refund is available before the order is submitted to the supplier or otherwise committed to fulfillment. After that, cancellation depends on whether processing or fulfillment can be stopped; after shipment, a customer-requested cancellation is generally handled under the eligible voluntary return terms. See our Return & Refund Policy for details.
Can I return an unused vanity if it doesn’t work for my space?
Contact us within 14 calendar days of delivery to request return authorization. Eligible voluntary returns must be new, unused, uninstalled, complete and in their original condition and packaging, including the pallet. Opening packaging carefully for inspection does not by itself make an item ineligible. Approved voluntary returns incur a 20% restocking fee on the returned merchandise price before sales tax, plus customer-paid return freight. Products identified as nonreturnable before purchase are excluded under the policy. Qualifying defects, damage and fulfillment errors are handled separately. See our Return & Refund Policy.
Can I pick up my order instead of having it delivered?
Local pickup is not a standard online checkout option. In certain circumstances, Fabubath may arrange it separately for eligible products, subject to availability, fulfillment location and prior confirmation. Obtain written confirmation and pickup instructions before visiting the showroom or a supplier warehouse.
Can you hold my order until my renovation is ready?
Please discuss your schedule with us before placing the order. Once a shipment reaches the carrier’s local terminal, delaying delivery beyond the dates offered by the carrier may result in storage fees.
